TH102
This four-bedroom house is based on the proportions of the traditional farm steading. It has two wings, one containing the living accommodation, the other the sleeping accommodation. This L-shape forms a garden courtyard which ideally acts as a sun trap with extensive decking.
Entrance is into a lobby with a convienent closet. There is then the option of accessing directly into the large utility or through to a sun room with generous storage cupboards. The kitchen and dining area are open plan, and the large double-height living space has a fireplace as its focal point.
The sleeping wing has one large double-height master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and two other bedrooms with a shared bathroom. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and open onto the decking.
As is to be expected, the house has large areas of glazing and sliding doors which give bright interiors and fully exploit the views. This is a home for a family that enjoys light, space and luxury.
The feature stair to the living wing leads up to a landing with generous storage cupboards, then on to an extra bedroom and bathroom.
Because of its deep footprint this house is best suited for relatively flat sites.
By building this design in SIP, or in timber frame with attic trusses throughout, the open attic space above the bedroom wing can be converted to give the layout of the TH103.
