This house is designed with a wall of service areas running down its back. Entry is into a spacious wind lobby which has seating for removing boots to the left, and a handy utility room to the right. This leads onto the open plan dining and living room, the spaces again defined by a change in volume. The kitchen is separate but sliding doors means that the host/hostess can easily talk to guests while serving dinner, or close off the bùrach if required.
The master bedroom at the end of the house has its own ensuite shower room while there is a bathroom opposite the spare bedroom.
All the main rooms have their glazing in the same orientation with small windows to the service rooms. This is ideally suited to a site with a north/south axis. Windows can, however be placed in either gable.
This house looks excellent clad in timber, as shown, but can equally well be done in rendered block.
By building this design in SIP, or in timber frame with attic trusses (optional extra) you will have an open attic space into which you can later add the first floor layout of the LH402.
