This design is based upon the form and proportions of the traditional one-and-a-half storey 'whitehouse'. In this version the house is entered via an extension comprising a wind lobby, utility room and kitchen.

This arrangement allows light to enter the dining area and transforms the interior spaces.  More drama is added with the double height living area which is viewed as an extension externally.  This is to preserve the classical symmetry of the whitehouse.

A large bedroom downstairs has access to a 'Jack and Jill' bathroom.  The stair from the hall leads up to a first floor comprising a bathroom and two generous bedrooms. 

 

This is a beautiful house which balances a traditional look with spectacular internal spaces.
