This longhouse comes with a ‘lean-to’ rear extension as standard. The extension houses an enhanced lobby and utility area, adding to the practically of this attractive design.
From the wind-lobby, the visitor enters into the kitchen - the heart of the Highland home, with a central fire acting as the focal point to the living area. The living room and farmhouse kitchen, although open plan, are divided by a counter and also a change in volume. The living room is open to the apex of the roof which adds drama, something sadly lacking in a standard kit-house.
To minimise wasteful corridor space the bedrooms have been placed at either end of the house although the large bedroom can be used as a TV room. The master bedroom is accessed from the living room and is easily large enough to accommodate an ensuite shower room. The small bedroom at the other end is conveniently placed next to the bathroom and storage areas.
The design can be amended, for example to provide more storage or separate living space, to suit your particular needs.
