This range of houses is inspired by the classic "whitehouse" form. This building type was characterised by its white rendered walls, slate roof and dormer windows. These buildings became commonplace across Scotland in various forms, and largely replaced the blackhouse in the Highlands.
We have carefully considered proportion in the design of these houses, ensuring that they look authentic. Many modern interpretations of these houses are clumsy and unattractive. The reason for this is that the plan is too deep and the relationship between the roof and wall is wrong. We have ensured that our range of houses follow the classical rules. The result is beautifully balanced exteriors that contrast markedly with the stunning modern interior spaces. Internally the houses can be modified to suit your particular needs.
These houses can also be provided in timber frame.
