Our sleek Longhouse range of one-and-a-half storey kit houses have been inspired on the traditional architectural form of Scotland and northern Europe. Their linear form allows them to slot easily into the landscape while, internally, superfluous divisions such as a formal reception hall have been eliminated to create an airy, open-plan layout.
This large four-bedroom family home expands further upon the generously proportioned LH502P design by adding a box dormer to accommodate a shared bathroom on the first floor, making it ideal for families with children
As with the LH502P, are two options regarding the rear ‘lean-to’ extension: the first comprises a wind-lobby and utility area, while the second option creates a much larger kitchen and larder, plus an external store.
Compared to the LH402PD, the extra width makes the dramatic double-height living area even more spectacular; its vaulted ceiling and wood-burning stove form the home’s natural focal point. Large areas of glazing open onto a deck, bringing the outside in. Ideally, the living room windows will frame the views while making best use of passive solar gain throughout the year.
One downstairs bedroom enjoys its own en-suite, while the second bedroom – conveniently situated for the shower-room – is sometimes used as a home office. Upstairs rooms are reached by a feature stair leading from the dining area. With twin roof-lights, plus built-in drawers and cupboards, these bedrooms are functional and airy. These large rooms share access to a central bathroom contained within the box dormer. (As with all our designs, the bathroom and kitchens can be supplied by HebHomes.)
There is scope to amend the design – for example to provide more storage or separate living space – to suit your particular needs. This model can also be provided as a timber frame house upon request. Please see the bespoke page for more details, or contact us to start the conversation.
